Terms of Use

Last updated: September 29, 2026

Acceptance

By using PictureBox — including joining an event and uploading photos or videos — you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. PictureBox is available at picturebox.nu.

Your content and your responsibility

By uploading content you confirm that:

  • you own the photos or videos you upload, or have the necessary rights and permissions to share them;
  • the upload does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademarks, privacy, or other legal rights;
  • the content complies with applicable law.

If your content shows identifiable people, you are responsible for having the necessary consent or another lawful basis to share it with the other guests of the event.

No tolerance for objectionable content

There is zero tolerance for objectionable, illegal, or abusive content, or for abusive users. You agree not to upload, share, or post any content that:

  • is unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, or defamatory;
  • is sexually explicit, pornographic, or depicts nudity;
  • depicts or promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activity;
  • infringes anyone’s privacy, copyright, or other rights;
  • contains another person without a reasonable expectation that they consent to the photo being shared with other event guests;
  • contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
  • is spam or unsolicited advertising.

License to PictureBox

You keep ownership of your content — PictureBox claims no ownership of it. By uploading, you grant PictureBox a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, display, and distribute your content to the extent necessary to provide the app’s features, including showing photos to the participants of the relevant event and preparing downloads for the host. The license ends when your content is deleted from our systems.

License to the host

By uploading to an event, you also give the event’s host and co-hosts a free, non-exclusive, worldwide and lasting license to use, copy, share and publish the photos and videos you uploaded to that event — for example in their own albums, on social media, on their website and in their own marketing. You keep your copyright, and the host should credit you where it is practical.

Copies the host has already downloaded or published may stay in use after you delete your content from PictureBox.

This license also covers photos and videos uploaded before September 29, 2026. If you uploaded before that date and do not want the host to use your content this way, delete it in the app (Delete My Data) or write to support@picturebox.nu by October 29, 2026.

Before publishing photos outside the event, the host is responsible for having the consent of recognisable people shown in them, or another lawful basis.

Moderation, reporting, and blocking

PictureBox provides tools to keep events safe:

  • Report: any guest can report a photo from the full-screen viewer. Reported content is reviewed and removed if it violates these Terms, normally within 24 hours.
  • Block: any guest can hide all photos from a specific uploader so they no longer appear in their gallery.
  • Removal: you can delete your own photos and data at any time using Delete My Data in the app. Event hosts may remove any photo or end an event.

We may remove content that we consider to violate these Terms or applicable law, without notice. Repeated or serious violations may lead to your access to the app being restricted or terminated.

Networking events

A Networking event is a long-running event for a club, a business network or a similar group. Participants sign in, the host approves each participant, and participants may choose to share contact details with each other.

If you take part:

  • your name and profile picture are visible to the participants the host has approved for that event;
  • your company, title, phone number and email are shown only if you switch sharing on. It is off by default, it applies to that event only, and you can switch it off again at any time;
  • you can leave the event at any time. Leaving deletes your contact details and your calendar answers for that event. Photos you uploaded stay in the album under the rules above.

If you host (data-processing terms):

  • you are the data controller for your participants’ contact details. PictureBox stores and shows them on your behalf and on your instructions, as your data processor;
  • you must have a lawful basis for running the network and for inviting its participants;
  • you may use the participant list, the calendar and the messages only for the purposes of that event. You may not export, sell or reuse participants’ contact details outside the event;
  • you answer participants’ requests about their data, and we help you do so. Write to the address under Contact;
  • PictureBox deletes a participant’s details when they leave, and all participant details when you delete the event. We use the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy and keep the data within the security measures described there;
  • access codes for Networking events are personal to your host account and may not be passed on.

Liability

You are solely responsible for the content you upload. To the extent permitted by law, PictureBox is not liable for losses or claims arising from user-uploaded content.

Deletion of content

Content may be deleted when:

  • the event is deleted or expires;
  • you request deletion (for example via Delete My Data);
  • the content violates these Terms;
  • deletion is required for legal reasons.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
